Apúntalo was born in León, founded by Víctor de Vierna and Bárbara Menéndez, two software engineers who met while studying at the University of León (ULE).
Years later, they began working together again around a shared idea: to create a digital diary that would help small businesses manage appointments in a simple, personal way shaped around their working day.
From the University of León to a shared idea
After graduating, Víctor and Bárbara followed different professional paths. In time, the experience they had gained brought them back together to build a project of their own.
That is how Apúntalo began to take shape: a tool combining their technology backgrounds and interest in artificial intelligence to solve practical problems for appointment-based businesses.
The project’s early steps were also connected to the University of León business incubator, at the same institution where its founders had met years earlier.
Technology designed for everyday work
Apúntalo is designed especially for small businesses and professionals who work by appointment: hair salons, barbers, clinics, beauty centres, psychologists, tattoo studios and dog groomers, among many others.
From the outset, one aim has been to make the technology easy to use, including for people who are not accustomed to working with digital tools.
The platform organises appointments, sends reminders and requests confirmations through WhatsApp, reducing the time spent on manual calls and messages.
Building on that foundation, we continue to introduce automation and artificial intelligence wherever they genuinely make the job simpler. The aim is not to add complexity, but to make managing a diary take less and less effort.
A project from León beginning to cross borders
As a start-up founded in León, Apúntalo took part in the Impulsa Startup programme run by the León Chamber of Commerce. The experience helped shape the project and introduce it to other professionals and entrepreneurs.
